About
“Spellbound” is an ongoing comic which follows the story of Loraes Hawthorne, a troubled young druid with familial ties to an insidious cult which began shortly before his birth when his mother, a witch named Matilda, forged a pact with The Circle of Rot, offering the infant Loraes to become a living host for the malevolent deity they worship.
Though their ritual was unsuccessful, rendering Loraes permanently blind at birth, it granted him the unique power to transform Death into Life and back again, like a proverbial tailor’s wheel spinning the raw fibres of living matter into workable thread.
As a druid, Loraes is bound to serve the Great Balance of All Things, treading the thin path between Life and Death and ensuring neither side tips the scale too far, throwing nature out of balance. Yet since the fateful circumstances of his birth, Death’s shadow stalks Loraes at every peril, appearing to him in tangible form to tempt him into embracing his mother’s dark gifts and the destiny chosen for him years ago…
